AccountCom is authorised by the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) as a Registered Business Activity Statement (BAS) service provider. This means we are able to submit your BAS electronically to the ATO.
BAS Agent laws commenced on 31 March 2010, putting in place severe penalties for unregistered entities that provide (or advertise that they are able to provide) a BAS Service. The maximum penalty for providing a BAS service if unregistered in $27,500 for individuals and up to $137,500 for companies.
The BAS Agents Law makes it critical to ensure you business uses a Certified Bookkeeper who is registered to provide a BAS service.
Unfortunately not all bookkeepers have embraced these legal changes and may still be offering bookkeeping and BAS services without appropriate registration and certification.
At AccountCom we can tailor your bookkeeping needs so that you are covered from experiencing heavy fines by not having a compliant bookkeeper. We are registered to provide IAS and BAS statement preparation and submission to the ATO.
